If you make payments and communicate through the Wallapop platform, you benefit from the protection provided by our services and other security measures. We recommend that you use Wallapop Shipping to buy or sell products remotely. Please note that payments in person are excluded from Wallapop's protection and mediation.
If you reserve an item and pay for it outside of the Wallapop system, you won't benefit from our security measures. Additionally, if you make a payment outside of our platform, it will be more difficult for us to protect your personal data.
Never pay the purchase amount outside of the Wallapop platform. If someone asks you to do so, it could be attempted fraud. Wallapop Shipping allows you to pay without leaving our app. In the event that this happens, we recommend that you report the user immediately so that we can review the case.
If you sent a payment outside of Wallapop (e.g. via bank transfer or deposit), it could be a fraudulent sale. If in doubt, you can check whether your purchase has been processed through Wallapop.
To report a message:
- Access the chat on Wallapop
- Click on the conversation you had with the user in question.
- Click on the 3-dot icon to report them.
- You'll see that the application gives you the option to choose between various reasons for the complaint. Try to choose the one that best describes the situation and, if you do not see a suitable option, please select "Other Causes" and explain what happened so that we can help you.
