Mechanical Protection is an optional paid service for eligible second-hand cars sold between individuals in Spain. It is provided by Neat services. Wallapop helps sellers access the service and display it on the listing, but Neat provides the service and manages activation, intervention requests, eligibility validation, and service decisions.
This article explains how private sellers can buy Mechanical Protection for an eligible car listing, what the service includes, what information is needed to purchase it, how to share the activation link with the buyer, and how withdrawal works.
Why add Mechanical Protection to the car listing as a private seller?
Mechanical Protection can help your car stand out from similar listings and give potential buyers more confidence in a high-value purchase. By offering a 3-month protection service, you may reduce buyer hesitation, support a faster sale, and reduce price negotiations linked to concerns about unexpected mechanical problems. It can also give you greater peace of mind after the sale because the buyer can contact our service partner (Neat) directly to solicit intervention in case of certain breakdowns.
