To keep your account and the information it contains secure, we recommend that you read the following tips:
Password security
The use of strong and unique passwords is one of the most important factors in protecting your account against theft and unauthorized access. Here are some good practices you should follow:
-
The password you use for your Wallapop account should be different from the one you use for other accounts, such as your email, bank account or social networks. This way, if one of your other accounts is compromised, it is less likely to affect your Wallapop account.
-
Make sure your password is at least eight characters long and try to use a combination of upper and lower case letters, numbers and special characters (e.g. #, ?, $, !). Avoid using personal information such as your name, dates or addresses.
-
We recommend installing a password manager. Password managers are a useful tool for storing and organizing your passwords. Their use will make it easier for you to have a unique and secure password for each of your Internet accounts.
-
If you suspect that your account security has been compromised, a good practice is to immediately change your password and set a new one through the edit profile options, both in the app and on the web. For more information on what to do if you think someone has logged into your account see: What should I do if I think someone has logged into my account?

Verification of your data
Verifying your personal information helps us, and you, to recover and protect your account from suspicion more quickly and efficiently.
Make sure your contact information is verified and updated in your profile.
In Wallapop you will be able to verify your account through your email, your phone and your Facebook.
You can check if your data is verified in the + Info section of your profile.
Your personal data will be kept completely confidential and will only be used for security reasons or when necessary in the provision of the service, never for any other reason for which you have not given us your express consent. We will also not share your email address or personal phone number with anyone.
Do not provide personal data
Never provide personal account data (email, phone, password,...) through email, phone, WhatsApp or Wallapop chat. We will never ask you for your data directly through these channels. For more information see: How can I know if an email really belongs to Wallapop?
Wallapop never contacts users through WhatsApp. If someone sends you this type of message pretending to be a Wallapop administrator/employee, you may be facing a phishing attempt or other type of fraud. Be suspicious, do not continue with the conversation and report it. For more information see: How can I identify a phishing scam?
