What is phone verification and what is it for
Verifying your phone number is a security measure that helps protect your account and increase trust in your profile.

By verifying your phone, we can add an extra layer of protection to your account. In some cases, this allows us to send you a code via SMS when you log in, to prevent unauthorized access.
Increases trust in your profile
Your profile will display a badge indicating that your number has been verified. This helps build trust with other users who interact with you.
Don’t worry, your data is safe. Your phone number is not visible to other users; this is for internal verification purposes only. We will not share it with other companies or use it for commercial calls.
Remember, your phone number can only be linked to one account at a time.
When can I verify my phone number?
You can verify your phone number at any time from your profile.
When creating your account, you’ll have the option to add it, and you can also update it later via your profile icon. Additionally, we may ask you to verify your phone number for security reasons while using Wallapop.

How can I update my phone number?
Keeping your contact information up to date is important, and very easy.
You can add or update your phone number in your Wallapop profile by following these steps:
- Tap the profile icon > Settings > Verifications and Security > in the phone number section, select Change or Link.
- Enter your phone number.
- You’ll receive an automatic message with a verification code.
Haven’t received it yet? Sometimes the SMS may take a few minutes. The SMS cost is covered by Wallapop.
Remember:
- After verifying your phone number, you won’t receive calls or support via WhatsApp.
- Always keep your conversations within the Wallapop chat. If you take the conversation outside, we won’t be able to protect you from potential scams or issues.
- We will never ask for your phone number or email address to complete purchases or sales through the chat.
It’s important not to share the verification code with anyone. Only you should enter it directly into the app or website.

- The email address of the account you’re trying to link your phone number to.
- The phone number you’re trying to add to your account.
