We're updating how we handle larger items on Wallapop. From 6 October 2026, items which are bulky will no longer be eligible for shipping.
What's considered a bulky item?
Bulky items are products that exceed standard parcel dimensions or carrier weight limits. These are typically packages over 30kg or with combined dimensions exceeding 210cm. Common examples include:
- Furniture such as sofas, bed frames, wardrobes, dining tables, and mattresses
- Large household appliances like washing machines, refrigerators, and ovens
- Heavy fitness equipment like treadmills, weight racks, and stationary bikes
- Large sports or outdoor gear, including kayaks, surfboards, and bicycles
What happens if you're in the middle of a purchase or sale?
If you already have a bulky shipping order in progress, your transaction proceeds normally:
- Your delivery continues on schedule: Couriers will collect and deliver your item as arranged.
- Wallapop Protection stays active: Your transaction remains fully protected from pickup through delivery, and you’ll still have 48 hours after delivery to confirm everything arrived safely.
- Your money stays secure: We hold the buyer's payment safely until they confirm delivery, and sellers receive their funds directly in their Wallet.
What changes from 6 October 2026?
From 6 October 2026, face-to-face pickup will be the only way to buy and sell bulky items.
Local pickup offers benefits when you buy or sell large or heavy items:
- Inspect items in person before finalizing: You can check the item condition, test functionality, and make sure measurements fit in real life before completing the exchange.
- Skip packaging hassles: You don't have to find giant boxes, crates, or protective bubble wrap for oversized items.
- Zero shipping costs or courier delays: You avoid carrier fees and can complete the exchange without waiting for delivery.
- Flexible coordination: You can use our in-app chat to agree on a convenient time and a safe meeting spot that fits both of your schedules.
